Last Sunday my mom and I went to see Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. I’ve wanted to see this show for YEARS and I was beyond excited to finally get to see it in Ottawa at the National Arts Centre. Mom and I have seen many concerts and plays at this venue and I love downtown Ottawa. We usually do a little shopping at the Rideau Centre and then go out for dinner – this time we treated ourselves to an amazing meal at Le Café (and when I say we treated ourselves, I mean my mom treated us – thanks Mom!). The salmon wellington was delicious and my clementine cheesecake tasted like a creamsicle! Since the restaurant is inside the NAC we just walked up the stairs after our meal to the show. I cried during the first song (I was just so excited!) but then I got it together and enjoyed the rest of the show. It was even better than I could have imagined and of course we listened to Tapestry on the drive home. Seeing this show at the beginning of January was perfect timing since I’ve decided the title song should be my mantra for 2019:
